well guys... i am currently facing a damn big problem... which is to choose from either taking stpm or going out for a diploma...
for stpm... it is what my dad asked me to take... since it is cheap and i can enter local universtiy by using it...
for diploma... what i always wanted to take is diploma in Performing Arts... but it will cost a lot... and to be honest and practical, i cant guarantee that i will have a job after i obtained my diploma as performing sector in malaysia is not so common yet... and not much people can accept that here...
it is about my future... so cant really 'play-play' liao...
it will be damn hard (according to lots of friends and teachers) for stpm... but in return my future will be brighter...
it may be easier for a diploma as that is what i like, but, again, my future is not very 'safe'...
so... what is your advice? i need comments!!!

This is a dilemma only you should decide on. I would say follow your heart. There are so many opportunities in performing arts these days. a good place to start is ASK..not only you get to learn from well established performers of sorts..it is affordable and once you are there..if you are good at what you do..there are plenty of opportunities interms of work. working in the arts scene can be unconventional..but if you like art you should live it. Malaysia is not like before..ppl celebrate artiste.. dancers are in demand, theatres every where..malay, chinese, english, tamil plays..musicians of all sorts..
ASK is Akademi Seni Kebangsaan. It is in KL..it's where many young up and coming artiste were trained..from music, dance, acting etc. it is a good place to begin...do check it out.
i know about ASK... but i takut it is too 'malaysia-lised'... haha... then somemore the ASK site not very complete... cant really find the information about the intakes... so need more help... haha...
